A Few of Our Favorite Places

Bermuda
The hidden gem in the Atlantic.  We have been to Bermuda several times.  While we have yet to fly in and stay, we have visited by cruise ship.  Our go to...NCL out of Boston.  Easy to get to, and a great time on a smaller ship.  We have done this trip alone and with the family.  The crystal clear water, the food, the endless activities makes this a must for everyone to experience.  Horseshoe Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!  There are so many other spots that offer a less crowded atmosphere, Tobacco Bay and the Blue Hole Park.  The island even has cliff jumping for the daring visitors. Another must try is the fish sandwich made the local way (fresh fish on toasted raisin bread).  Sounds odd, but it is amazing!  Of course, no trip to Bermuda is complete without a trip to the Swizzle Inn where you "Swizzle Inn and Stagger out"

Nova Scotia, Canada
Having family located in this Canadian Province makes traveling here easy.  With that said, we have been many times.  By road and by ferry the trip is easy and always beautiful.  So many people are unaware of the small towns in the Province.  Halifax is the go to place, however the small towns offer a lot to see and do.  Mahone Bay is the home to a one of a kind pewter shop where everything is made in house.  Lockeport offers, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Atlantic, Crescent Beach.  The small town family atmosphere has a spiritual draw that everyone should experience.  The Cabot Trail on the northern part of the Province offers amazing views.  We highly recommend this destination.

Alaska
This year will be our first time going to Alaska.  We will be taking the NCL Bliss out of Seattle and traveling the Inside Passage.  After speaking to many who have experienced this adventure, it became a number one on our bucket list to go to.  We have been researching the many activities to do in all the ports we will be stopping at.  There is more than one ship that goes to Alaska and each one offers a different experience.  I am sure will take the opportunity to try the other ships in the future.  One stop for sure will be the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau.  We are told everyone must experience this restaurant and have the infamous "Duck Fart" shots.  That along with the Glacier Margarita we are told is a must.  For an activity, one of the must do's and we are booked is the ZipRider.  This is the worlds highest and longest zip line with the most spectacular views.
